Neuropsychological Assessment, Consultation and Guidance Service for Children, Adolescents, and Families
Anya Dashevsky, Psy.D.
Dr. Anya Dashevsky
I am a clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with children and families. Early in my career, I realized that there is a need for timely, comprehensive, child-centered neuropsychological evaluations, as well as a place for parents to ask questions and share concerns about raising children. I opened Growing Minds to fulfill this need.
Prior to opening my own practice, I was the director of the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service for Young Children, a new program at the Brenner Assessment and Consultation Center that I envisioned and co-founded. At the same time, I was providing guidance and support to new parents at the Freedman Center for Child and Family Development.
Over the course of my career, I have worked with very young children in need of Early Intervention services; provided therapy to children, adolescents, couples, and families in the context of a community mental health center; worked with students at a college counseling center; and facilitated parent groups. I have also provided consultation to preschools and daycare centers regarding best ways to integrate children with a variety of needs.
I hold a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, with a specialization in Children, Adolescents, and Families. I have focused my studies on neuropsychological and psychological assessment, as well as child and family therapy. I also hold a Master's degree in Applied Child Development from Tufts University, where I studied different aspects of typical development, as well as development of children with special needs.
My background in human development and neuropsychology allows me to evaluate each client's developmental needs and provide or recommend treatment based on the client's unique set of strengths and challenges.
When not working with children of other parents, I am busy raising my own four kids together with my husband in Bedford, MA.
I am fluent in English and Russian.
